Hello babes, today I am unboxing my first-ever ipsy bag!! If you don’t know ipsy bag, is a monthly beauty subscription that is run by Michelle Phan. For 10$ a month you get a few beauty samples. As a student and a full time worker, I was generally nervous about buying a monthly beauty subscription. Because, what if I don’t like it and i have wasted 10$. I try to save money as much as possible.
This monthly the theme of ipsy bag is called Volume up! That “challenges you to fearlessly express yourself. Be seen! Be heard!” I love the message that ipsy has sent out and makes me have a positive out look on ipsy.
The first things I see are two face masks from Biorepublic skincare. One is an “aloe rescue” and the other is “ Green tea detox”. Both are fiber sheet masks. The aloe rescue mask is recommended for after sun, which I think is fantastic because I live in Florida.
The second product I’ve pulled out is SO ADORABLE and small. A small cardboard pan of blush from The balm. I have heard of the bomb through social media but I have never had the chance to try it. I’m not sure if every person who ordered Ipsy bag gets the same color, but my color is called “in full swing” which is a really pretty neutral, peachy pink color, which I think is perfect for my pale skin. I’m excited to see the wear-ability on this blush. I will say, its very tiny. ( well duh, Jennifer they are samples!!) Yes, I know that but it is very tiny. I’m just saying i hvae gotten bigger samples at Sephora or Mac.
The next product I see, is an eyeliner from beauty for real. In the color called chocolate fix which is a brown color. Now I’m not used to wearing brown eyeliner I’m always used to wearing dark blue very dark black so I’m excited to try this out in to see if I actually have a new eyeliner color that I like. This island is a Twist up which I very appreciate because, I never remember to buy pencil sharpeners and I think the wood shavings are quite annoying.
The next product in Ipsy bag is a shimmer Shadow from City color Cosmetics. Now, this color is called Beach college and it’s a very shimmery Emerald color, now one thing I notice from this product is at his cruelty-free and I think that’s amazing that they add cruelty-free products in their monthly bags. The last and final product is a NYX whipped lip & Cheek color in pink Cloud it’s a very fuchsia paint color which I believe is not for everyone but I think it is nice color for the summer.
I have very much mixed feelings about the Ipsy bag. I love that you get your own little cosmetic bag with it. But, but I believe for the amount you pay you should get at least one or two more products that are samples… I know samples are generally usually small and maybe I’m just being cheap but I think they should include at least a few more things in the bag. Yes, I’m going to continue to purchase Ipsy bag because I believe it’s a great way for me to try out new products since I’m a bloggers and it’s always nice that if you don’t like the product you can always give it to your mother of some friends. I do believe overall, it is very nice for people who are new to makeup or want to try new products. This would be a very cute gift monthly for someone who is a teenager or even older. So stay tuned for next month for my review of ipsy bag July.
